BTW I only know what I read in either public documents or by what is posted on this site or other sites but only what is from a primary source, such as the document or court records that is written by the authority that can implement it like a court.

This is simply a reminder for the title holding congregation to do the required paperwork as part of their corporation who holds the title. Not hall has someone who can explain to the others the ins and outs of a very complicated system that each state and county has for tax-exempt status.

There are indications that Watchtower does receive awards from governments as they are helping to print material in less known native languages. The Navajo nation is very happy that Watchtower is trying to present information in that language, including written material because it was considered being on the cusp of extinction at least when it came to the written form.
I don't know about incentives when it comes to languages, but I do know that they do accept government grants when it is offered to them in accordance to their normal activities. I know for sure that at Patterson, that New York City subsidies their water treatment center. The New York EPA gave the City the option of cleaning up their own water or paying people above them to clean up their waste water. Since Paterson is in the Hudson Valley, NYC does pay them for their waste water treatment. I know that bethelites do have to put down their costs center when they get materials for a job for audit and accounting purposes, most of the time it is pretty lax because it doesn't affect too much, except when it comes to working in the treatment plant. Every time there has to accounted for because they send the costs to NYC and they pay a certain percentage.

I don't work for Watchtower. I just look for facts and not what people say. If you read the actual information in that Menlo Park case it is some crazy stuff that Cobb claimed. Read the actual court documents and depositions and you will see the truth behind that case.
Second, everyone here knows there is a difference between the writing department and writing committee right.

You may be right that that they are far from what Jesus had done while he is on the earth. And you do have the right to voice your displeasure on how a non-profit uses their money, but at the end of the day, if they don't break a law, there is nothing that can be done about it. You are doing what you can do, you voice your opinion and you withhold your own money from being contributed. But they aren't breaking any laws. I posted this earlier, John Oliver did a fantastic episode on televangelists and what is allowed to be done with the money that is donated. The IRS rules and Federal Law is very lax when it comes to something like this.

Watchtower has no control over what can be done by the local corporation if it is written into their bylaws and constitution that gives them that power. It is abiding by the local corporate governance documents that prevents certain actions from happening. Many of those documents has it written in that if the property is ever sold that the proceeds go to Watchtower, but it is not that Watchtower goes in and takes that money, it is that the governance document says that the money has to be sent there. Watchtower cannot go to a bank and just say we are taking this money. There is a process that takes place.

Menlo Park was it's own corporation with it's own bylaws and constitution. Their constitution required that the directors were in good standing and were elders. That is not the case uniformally, nor for Watchtower. You have to read the constitution and bylaws for each corporation.
And it doesn't matter at least in the US. Courts have ruled on this matter a number of times that GB does not control the corporations and one corporation does not control the actions of another. No matter how much you hate it, it is case law and it would take a dramatic shift to change it.

And by the way you can get a copy of the WBTS of NY and PA bylaws and constitution through the Secretary of State's office in their respective states, both are public records.

Actually yes, that is how the legal definitions for the directors work. They control the legal corporations and are supposed to serve in the best interest of the corporation. Granted there are a number of directors so you would have to convince a majority of the directors to go against the governing body, but they have the legal right to do anything they so desire. There are ways to remove a director or a voting member of the corporation but that process would have to be completed before a majority of directors vote one way or the other. -

If you don't think that they are spending their money correctly then don't contribute to them. I don't understand why it is such a big concern for so many people here what they spend their money on. If people want to contribute to a cause it is their right to contribute or not. And if you want to contribute and put a restriction on what those monies can be used for than you can make a conditional contribution. When people donate to the Red Cross some of the money they contribute might be used for things that they agree with and some may not, but you contribute to the organization. It is not a tax, so no one forced you to contribute to them. It is a voluntary thing.
